Today Woodland Heritage announces a £238,442 grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to create ‘Woodland Heritage Skills’; two years of educational workshops, digital educational assets and collaboration with its members and partners to deliver the charity’s new Open Woods & Workshops initiative.

Timber Development UK backs architectural student to attend Woodland to Workshop course

The University of Huddersfield architectural part-one graduate, Maria Sebastian, has been selected to receive a grant from Timber Development UK (TDUK) that has allowed her to attend the 25th running of Woodland Heritage’s ever-popular Woodland to Workshop (W2W) course this autumn.

Student Design Award winners propose different ideas to benefit local woodlands

For the second year running, the RSA Student Design Awards have brought forward novel ways to utilise local woodland resources to stimulate inclusive and sustainable economic activity. In an Award category called ‘A New Leaf’, sponsored by internationally recognised designer and furniture maker, John Makepeace, with support from Woodland Heritage, two quite different ideas caught the judges’ imagination, with the winners sharing the £2,000 John Makepeace Award at the awards ceremony in June.
