Covid guidance permitting, the 24th and 25th stagings of the popular Woodland to Workshop course are on track for 20-22 and 27-29 September respectively.
The first ‘W2W’ courses to be run since October 2019, applications for this hands-on, intensive, three-day course are being invited by organisers, Woodland Heritage.
With the forestry industry in great shape, the growing demand for timber means that more than ever it’s time to get the most value from every tree felled.
With a focus on broadleaves in particular, this most practical of courses, led by long-established industry experts in growing, converting, and using timber, will highlight where money can be made and lost.
With just a dozen participants each time, the Herefordshire-based Woodland to Workshop courses spend two days at Whitney Sawmills, with a day at the Duchy of Cornwall woodlands in the county sandwiched in-between.
For employers, the £650 cost of the course has great scope to be recouped through the application of the learning gained, as well as having the chance to have their member of staff chosen by the tutors as top student of the year and to receive The Prince of Wales Award.
For participants themselves, as well as the chance to win this prestigious award, in agreement with the Institute of Chartered Foresters members of the Institute are able to claim up to a maximum of 24 hours CPD for attendance and participation in this event.
