The key policy of WHITNEY SAWMILLS is the supply of quality native timbers and their products from woodlands managed to the highest standards.

Originally a cabinetmaker Will Bullough set up the mill in Herefordshire approximately 20 years ago in an area famous for its deep soils and fine trees.

The business expanded rapidly and now provides a wide range of the traditionally used hardwoods and softwoods to cabinet makers and joiners whilst also specialising in the supply of Oak and Douglas Fir beams for timber framers and builders throughout the UK.

The workshop tradition continues on the site, and a highly skilled team make fine furniture and joinery to commission.

The maintenance of the ancient practices of sustainable timber supplies and woodland management are a passion which has led Will Bullough to plant his own woodland and to join with Woodland Heritage and the Duchy of Cornwall to develop the acclaimed 3 Day Woodland to Workshop (W2W) course. This “learning by doing” course takes place twice a year and is based at the Whitney Sawmill site in the beautiful Wye Valley. For more information on this go to Whitney Sawmills Training Courses.
